This website is the brainchild of Barbara Richter, Ph.D. Candidate in Egyptology at U.C. Berkeley. However, it could not have come into existence without the help and assistance of the following individuals and organizations:
Enormous thanks go to Jon M. Hayes of the Educational Technology Services at U.C. Berkeley. He not only offered invaluable help with the design and implementation of the website, but also programmed it in Dreamweaver, working into the wee hours of the morning so that the site would be ready for the first day of class, August 27, 2009.
The hieroglyphs (except for the simplified step-by-step drawings) were adapted from the excellent hieroglyphic type-setting program, WinGlyph, available from the Center for Computer-Aided Egyptological Research (CCER).
Graphics were designed and produced by Barbara Richter in various versions of Adobe Photoshop.
This website is dedicated to the memory of Dr. Cathleen A. Keller (1945-2008), Professor of Egyptology at U.C. Berkeley. May her Ka have all good things upon which a blessed spirit might live!
